4 STARS!!!!

A story about a relationship where one party is pushed to far and decides to move on with their life without the other person. This is the second book in the Scarred by Love series where Kate and Carson's story did not disappoint.

Kate and Carson had always had a bickering fighting relationship. That was who they are and how they fit together but over time the closeness between the two of them was gradually fizzing out. This in turn was not working for Kate especially with their baby on the way.

Carson was not a man used to be tied down to one woman. He figured that life would still be the same with the exception of a baby in his life. That framed of mind all changed when one day Kate was no longer there.

This is a story about moving on from the norm. To be able to be with the one you love but still be the person you want to be but in a more tame way.

Love is never easy especially when a person is used to living a certain lifestyle. Being scared of growing up is a given but actually realizing what you want before it is too late is the predicament that Carson was in. He needed win the heart of Kate, the woman he is in love with even if it means giving up his life as a bachelor.

There were many moments that Kate wanted to just give in. A feat that was very hard to hold out on. She was strong and determined which made this story full of hope for anyone wanting something real and not be with someone because of circumstances.

A great read about a couple finding a way to be together but still not lose sight of who they are. I felt so many different emotions and can relate to many of the situations that this couple were going through. I recommend this 4 star story to anyone wanting another outlook of reconnecting to the one you love!

{BABBLING CHATTER's Review}
4 STARS!

Gabe lived a true rocker lifestyle due to the one woman that left him. Anything to get his mind out of his broken reality until that said one person unexpectedly comes back into his life.

Faith is a photographer who ran scared just when life was getting good. Afraid of the reality of being with a rock star caused her to completely get away and distance herself from everyone including her family.

"Why all of this? Why go through all the trouble?" I took another sip of my champagne.

"Because,  I love you. How many times do I have to tell you that for you to believe me."

Avoiding the truths is the story of Gabe and Faith where they surprisingly cross paths and end up reuniting again via work. The tension and connection is undeniably there but unanswered questions of the past is what has been keeping them apart. There were so many OMG moments and the sexual tension is inevitable but the LOVE is always there. A great story of trying to move on and to reconnect in attempt to start over. Recommend read for everyone! This book has a little bit of everything and more that I could not put it down! If you loved Caleb in Crossover (Double Cross #1) then I have no doubt that Gabe will capture your heart too.

{ABOUT THE AUTHOR}

I grew up in a small, idyllic affluent town in the Western part of Connecticut, USA. The town definitely did not match my personality. My high school years were filled with the proverbial teenage fun, although not too much by me. I stayed close to home and pursued my B.A. in English Comparative Literature from a local college and then continued on for my M.A in English Professional Writing. I have always had a love for reading and literature and only furthered that during my studies. During my M.A. studies I decided it was time to challenge myself and work in a field that I have long admired and dreamt off: being a writer.

Having entered the lifestyle a few years ago, I write erotica with a preference toward BDSM themes. I enjoy exploring the emotional connection and emotions behind the D/s relationships and why we like what we like.

{BLOGGER REVIEW} Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell

Title: ELEANOR AND PARK
Author: Rainbow Rowell
Publication Date: February 26, 2013
Genres: Young Adult
Add to Goodreads

{SYNOPSIS}

Two misfits.
One extraordinary love.

Eleanor
... Red hair, wrong clothes. Standing behind him until he turns his head. Lying beside him until he wakes up. Making everyone else seem drabber and flatter and never good enough...Eleanor.

Park... He knows she'll love a song before he plays it for her. He laughs at her jokes before she ever gets to the punch line. There's a place on his chest, just below his throat, that makes her want to keep promises...Park.

Set over the course of one school year, this is the story of two star-crossed sixteen-year-olds—smart enough to know that first love almost never lasts, but brave and desperate enough to try.

{BABBLING CHATTER's REVIEW BY @NANI_VIP}

A half-Korean and half- (don’t mean to offend) white boy named Park Sheridan. And Eleanor Douglas, the new red-headed girl. Two high school misfits that seem completely wrong for each other at a first glance, but come together beautifully.

“You think that holding someone hard will bring them closer. You think that you can hold them so hard that you’ll still feel them, embossed on you, when you pull away.

Every time Eleanor pulled away from Park, she felt the gasping loss of him. ”

A not-so-typical love story between two completely different characters (Eleanor and Park) takes the reader into a whole new world of teenage love. Rainbow Rowell does an amazing job creating an atmosphere of young love that is unique to the characters, but that love is also intertwined with real problems that teenagers face. She includes teenage love drama (which I love) and incorporates with it, dilemmas like being the new kid in school, trying to fit in, bullying, or relationships with parents. As the reader dives deeper into the book, you also discover obstacles of domestic violence, child abuse, and racism that Eleanor and Park go through. (Now some of you may be wondering “Where does violence and abuse come in?”, but you have to read the book to find out now!)  Oh, and did I mention this takes place in 1986? :)

Their love was so much more than just a strong teenage crush and may go beyond true love. It was a dramatic, life-changing relationship and experience as they discover the truths about each other and their own self.

I highly recommend this book because any book that leaves me wanting more is worth reading in my opinion. :)

{ABOUT THE AUTHOR}

Rainbow Rowell writes books. Sometimes she writes about adults (ATTACHMENTS and LANDLINE). Sometimes she writes about teenagers (ELEANOR & PARK and FANGIRL). But she always writes about people who talk a lot. And people who feel like they're screwing up. And people who fall in love.

When she's not writing, Rainbow is reading comic books, planning Disney World trips and arguing about things that don't really matter in the big scheme of things.

She lives in Nebraska with her husband and two sons.

{EXCERPTS}

I would always carry a certain sadness for the death of my relationship with my family, but maybe I was numb at this point. I wanted to forgive and forget the things that’d happened between all of us, but I couldn’t manage to just sweep it all under the rug.
The seats on my flight filled up quickly, and soon we were climbing to an altitude that somehow made me calmer. I packed my iPad for something to do on the flight, and when I pulled it out of my large bag, the photo of Jake and me fell into my lap. I let out a sigh and held it in my hand once more.
“Isn’t he a handsome fellow?” The passenger next to me commented.
“Yes, he was, thank you.”
“Was? Did something happen to him dear?”
I couldn’t help but want to talk to my new acquaintance. She was the grandmotherly type, with salt and pepper hair and glasses that sat low on the bridge of her nose. I felt strangely at ease with her.
“Oh, no, nothing like that,” I said. “He was my best friend in law school. I haven’t seen him since we graduated.”
“Is that why you’re heading to New York? Will he be there waiting for you?” She looked hopeful.
“No, I’m actually moving there. I have a job and a place waiting for me. I’m excited about it all. A fresh start, if you know what I mean.” I fell silent. I felt a blush crawl up my neck as she waited for me to continue. “He moved back to Texas the last time I’d heard, anyway. He was supposed to set up a law office there.” I offered a small smile. I still had a sense of pride for Jake. He’d set out to accomplish his goals and dreams.
“Honey, I know all about starting over. Everyone needs a clean slate at least once in their lives. But can I give you a word of advice?”
I nodded. “Sure.”
She grabbed the photo from my hand. “Always tell those you care about how you feel, even if you’re afraid to. The one thing I’ve learned about life is that you can’t go through it with regrets. Someday you’ll be taking your last breath and wish you’d said or done something, and it will be too late then.”

********************************************************

“Emily, if you want to leave, it’s fine.”
My face flamed as he said my name, and Jake turned around in his chair. I closed my eyes and tried to mentally transport myself anywhere but where I was sitting.
“Small world.” Jake smiled.
Grant turned around to face Jake, and I saw something on Jake’s face that looked like aggravation.
“Excuse me, do we know you?” Grant asked.
You don’t, but Emily does.” Jake bit out.
Grant turned to me with a questioning look on his face. “Yes, I know him. We went to college together.” I tried to keep the answer simple.
“Well, if you haven’t noticed we’re on a date here, so why don’t you turn back around and mind your own business.” Grant told Jake.
“Listen buddy, Emily and I have been friends far longer then you’ve been around, so I suggest you shut the hell up.” Jake bit back.
The scene in front of me was unfolding like a take from a bad soap opera. I wanted to crawl under the table and hide until it was over. The patrons around us were staring, and Jake’s floozy date was just sitting across from him smacking her gum between her loud pink lips. Grant abruptly stood from his chair and faced Jake with anger in his eyes. I didn’t know what to do. I knew if I didn’t say something, the situation would escalate, and one or both of them would end up in jail. Jake didn’t need that. He could ruin his reputation and ultimately his career; I couldn’t let that happen.
“Grant, please, let’s just go,” I pleaded.
“No. This bastard wants to start shit, then he can finish it, too.” Grant began to roll up his sleeves.
Jake stood from his seat at the invitation. “Emily, you sure have found a winner here. Pretty boy likes to solve things with fighting.”
Now, I was pissed. First, Jake makes fun of me for failing the bar exam, and now he has the balls to make fun of my choice in dates. Screw that.
“What is your problem Jake? Have you just turned into the world’s biggest asshole or what?” I pushed my chair back and stood. “Excuse me, but I’m leaving.” I grabbed my purse and started to walk out while in the background I could still hear the two of them verbally abusing each other.

***********************************************************************

“Hey babe, sorry I didn’t tell you I’d be here today. After you told me you were working here, I knew you’d put an end to our date.”
“You were right on that assumption.” I continued walking.
“So how about a drink after work to apologize, my treat?”
“Thanks for the offer but that’s not a good idea.”
“And why not?” he ran his hand over my backside causing a flutter of excitement and apprehension to run through me.
“Well for starters, you’re a client. That’s a huge conflict of interest Grant. I really wish you would’ve told me last night.”
“I said I was sorry Emily.” He gave me a sad face.
“Well like I said, this isn’t a good idea. We can’t continue to see each other. I know it was only one date but if you could please not say anything I’d appreciate it. I could lose my job over this.” I pleaded with him.
“I understand your point, but I still see the way you look at me. And the way you were squirming in your seat in there. Tell me you don’t want me. Tell me that you wouldn’t like to have my hands all over you right now.”
Oh my god. He was turning me on even more with his low seductive voice. I shouldn’t have been aroused by his forwardness. I should have been appalled and ran away. Why wasn’t I running away from him? I sped away from Jake and Jake didn’t even talk like Grant was. He was slow and sensual not crude and crass.
“Grant it’s just not the best idea…”
He suddenly grabbed my arm and yanked me into a vacant office, then shut and locked the door.
“What are you do…?”
I felt his lips crash onto mine in a bone melting kiss. The tango of our tongues felt so wrong but also so damn right. I mentally compared the kiss to Jakes. It wasn’t the same at all, no, Grant took what he wanted and didn’t apologize for it.  He reached around me and grabbed my ass with is large hands, and squeezed hard. He pulled me into his front and I could feel the hard press of his hardness against me. I closed my eyes and let the sensations overwhelm me. I shouldn’t have been there, doing that. I knew better. But for some ignorant reason, I didn’t care. I wanted to get lost in the arms of someone. I didn’t want to be the good girl right then, I wanted to do something reckless and irresponsible, and not give a damn about the consequences. I had to prove to myself that I wasn’t that scared little canary in a cage anymore, no, I was a bird of prey, going after what I wanted. And dammit, I would have it.

{ABOUT THE AUTHOR}

C.D. Taylor began writing as an item to check off her bucket list. She resides in the southernmost part of Illinois, right on the mighty Mississippi river. She enjoys the quiet country life with her husband, son and the many farm animals that make up the rest of the family. C.D. decided that farm life was just a little too mundane, so she started writing erotica to spice things up, so far so good. C.D. entered cosmetology school right out of High School and practiced the art of hair styling for 12 years. She believes that life shouldn’t be taken too seriously, we will never get out alive anyway. More than anything, C.D. is a kid at heart, she doesn’t believe in bedtimes, eating everything on her plate, or having ice cream only for dessert. {EXCERPT)

Several hours later, after calling my parents to let them know I arrived safely and unpacking all my belongings, I get ready for the party. Cora and I share a bathroom, and it’s not very big, but the water flow is decent, and it’s light and airy from the jalousie window that faces a patch of overgrown bushes. The downside is the warm stickiness seeping in through the louvers; my skin feels clammy even while under the spray of the showerhead.
This climate is going to take some getting used to.
Giving up the fight against the humidity, I crank the window open to allow the sunshine in, then shampoo my hair. Sudden pressure builds up behind my eyes, surprising me. I’ve kept a tight rein on my emotions these past few months, knowing I’d fall apart otherwise, but with this big move, everything is starting to catch up with me. As beautiful and exotic as it is down here, it feels so strange. I’ve never been more aware that I’m doing this alone.
I miss Eric.
Maybe not him so much as the idea of him. I miss the comfort of knowing I had someone by my side, someone I was going to marry and grow old with, and someone who supported me.
Until I realized it was all a lie.
The tears spill over, slowly rolling down my cheeks, and it pisses me off. I swore after the first two weeks I would never again cry over that jerk. Though I can justifiably reason that I’m also crying because I’ve left the safety of my parents’ home for the first time, I don’t want to give in to these feelings building up inside.
Wiping my tears, I slather some conditioner into my hair and stick my head under the thick spray. I don’t hear the voice until it’s close by.
“That’s what I told her,” says the male voice. It’s rich and deep, with the slightest hint of an accent that causes an automatic tremor along my spine. Given where we are, I place it as a Latin accent. “I don’t think she heard me.”
Frozen in place, I watch as the profile of a man appears in front of my window, no more than ten feet from where I stand in the shower. He’s ambling along the edge of the bushes, speaking into a sleek cell phone. He doesn’t notice me.
Holy mother of god.
He’s beautiful. Like Hollywood beautiful. No, Adonis beautiful. His deliciously tan skin is highlighted by the fact that he’s wearing nothing more than a pair of gray and white patterned board shorts, revealing gorgeous muscles and rippling abs. His dark hair curls the slightest bit along the nape of his neck, and his lips are firm and full.
My body reacts to the sight of him, the muscles in my abdomen coiling with heat and tension. Do they make them all like this in South Beach? If so, I should’ve moved here long ago.
Absently playing with the string of his board shorts, he laughs into his phone. “I’m trying to get used to it.”
A hint of some exotic-scented flower drifts into the shower. It smells wonderful, but lucky me, I’m allergic to about every type of plant there is, so it’s no surprise when I let out a sharp sneeze.
Shit.
He freezes, and his gaze moves to me. His eyes widen, trailing downward as he turns to face me straight-on.
Mortification sets in when I realize what he has a view of. The bottom of the window sits below my shoulders, but he’s tall and can undoubtedly see several inches below that.
Oh, god. With a delayed response, my hands move up to cover my breasts.
Hot Guy notices and, phone still to his ear, releases a slow grin. “Things are definitely looking up, though.”
My skin grows hot, and I feel a blush burn my cheeks. I stiffen my spine and shoot him a glare, then move my arm to cover my breasts so I can use the other hand to crank the window shut. “Jerk.”
His rumbling chuckle drifts in for a second before the frosted glass cuts off his view.
